Outstanding opportunity for an experienced Senior Carbon Professional/Project Manager. Key role within internationally focused Carbon Asset Manager


Our client, an internationally focused, integrated Carbon Asset Manager is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join their Swiss-based team.  As part of the CDM/JI/VER Origination Unit, their main tasks will be the sourcing and development of CDM projects as well strategy and market development in Africa. The ideal candidate will have an engineering and management background as the role calls for highly technical skills and the ability to manage and liaise with African clients.

Key Responsibilities:
 
Based in Switzerland the ideal candidate will;

•    Develop and liaise with cooperation partners, project owners and other stakeholders in the CDM market;
•    Assist the Regional Manager in market assessment and evaluation of the country strategy;
•    Identify and screen CDM project opportunities in Africa;
•    Conduct methodological and CDM-related assessment of projects;
•    Execute due diligence on CDM projects;
•    Negotiate Term Sheets and Emission Reduction Procurement Agreements;
•    Develop CDM projects across the whole cycle;

The successful candidate will ideally have;
•    Experience of working within Africa as well as a working knowledge of the Carbon business in Europe;
•    2:1 or higher in Engineering and ideally an MBA;
•    Minimum 2 years experience with CDM projects and a deep understanding of the workings of the Kyoto protocol, UNFCCC and international carbon markets;
•    Established network of project owners and DNAs in selected countries with high CDM potential;
•    Experience in the design of PDDs and project analysis is a must;
•    An excellent command of English and French plus two African languages. Whilst not essential, a command of the German language would be advantageous
