Credit Risk Manager The small, multi-disciplinary Credit Risk Management team reports directly to the Head of Financial Markets Risk Management. As articulated in the Group Credit & Financial Market Risk Management Guideline, the team is entrusted with safeguarding the firm's capital through proper management of Swiss Re's global credit risk portfolio and promoting sound credit risk management practices throughout the firm. Successful candidates would have direct input into credit-risk-related decisions whether they be single deals or limits. Candidates would not have managerial responsibility; their reporting line would be to either a VP or Director. The jobholder will be responsible for Risk Management of a wide variety Sectors, counter-parties, and product types. Experience in commodity backed finance and emerging market experience would be a strong advantage. This person will also provide direct support to the Credit Underwriting unit in assessing credit transactions. In addition, relevant credit analytical expertise will be used to support Credit aspect of The Group's Insurance, Investment and Capital Markets activities as necessary. The ideal Credit Analyst candidate will have: - Solid academic track record (university degree or higher)
- Minimum 4 to 6 years' financial analysis experience, preferably in the credit or research department of a primary commercial or investment bank or a credit rating agency
- Alongside strong financial analysis skills, the clear ability to develop quickly a detailed understanding of Swiss Re's diverse credit product range (including derivative instruments, fixed income securities, structured finance and reinsurance) and the credit risks inherent therein
- Flexible approach to work assignments
- Ability to manage diverse projects and tasks simultaneously and the confidence and initiative to take decisions often with only limited information and guidance and within tight deadlines
- Fluency in English is essential. Other languages such as Spanish, Italian and/or Portuguese would be advantageous
